Created in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, bearing general provisions applicable to non-profit associations and establishments of public utility, an apolitical non-profit association of social character and development named “Rise and shine”, under the acronym "RAS".

R.A.S has the following objectives:

1. To improve the quality of life, social, cultural, health and social development environmental issues in the Democratic Republic of Congo and elsewhere.

Thus, wherever possible, it will:

• Promote and implement the economic, physical and human resources development, new technologies, and the development of the environment.

• Promote the culture of self-reliance through revenue-generating activities; 

• To carry out humanitarian actions with underprivileged, disaster-stricken or simply deprived populations;

• To help people become more involved in community-based projects expressed by them, such as building bridges, schools, health centres, public procurement, latrines, stadiums, etc.;

• Participate in environmental protection through awareness-raising, sanitation, hygiene and cleanliness;

• Organise and respond to emergency food and relief programs;

• Promote and implement mechanisms for quality education that is accessible to all.

2. To develop social solidarity in the sectors of intervention of RISE AND SHINE

Purpose

The fundamental aim of RISE AND SHINE is to improve the quality of life and the socio-cultural development of the populations of the Democratic Republic of Congo and, exceptionally, that of the rest of the world.
